In the early morning hours of August 28, I was awoken by the sound of many sirens, and eventually, the sound of helicopters flying low over my property. When I had heard the first sirens, I knew there must be some emergency nearby. And then, the sirens and the emergency vehicles just sounded like they kept coming. And, it all sounded so close by.

Actually, I live about two miles from where this terrible collision occurred, and learned more details that day from my neighbor. Here in the Gettysburg Times are more details on the accident as well as a major fundraising event that took place yesterday, September 23, 2023, on the Biglerville farm that belongs to my neighbor’s son and family.

The “Brothers of the Highway” show to benefit injured truck driver Corey Strausbaugh is set for Saturday, Sept. 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, at 271 Quaker Run Road, Biglerville.

Below is a YouTube Video I put together with some music background which show some caricatures and face painting I did there yesterday plus there is footage of the various things at this event. This was amazingly organized, successful and so well-attended (despite the rain!) and is such a wonderful example of caring community!
